It arrives at the scale of an announcement. Eight feet of red, floor to ceiling, filling the wall, visible from the doorway and from the hall and probably from the street. Everything about the approach says something significant is about to happen.
What's in the middle is a mirror. Regular size. You, at your actual dimensions, in the centre of a very large red claim.
The frame isn't protecting the mirror. It's what got made instead of the mirror. All the volume went into the announcement and the thing announced came out ordinary — which isn't really a failure of the object so much as an accurate record of how most big promises resolve. The gesture was enormous and entirely sincere. The gesture was also the whole of it.
It leans against the wall under its own weight and doesn't hang. Something this certain was never going to be asked to prove it could hold.
Designed digitally in Blender and fabricated through large-format resin 3D printing across the studio's printer fleet, with cast resin sections and epoxy clay, hand-assembled, hand-painted and finished in high-gloss. Glass.
