Butter Chair

Sketched seven years ago, built now, and still not entirely sure what it's for.

It's a chair. It has the parts. You can sit in it. But it never fully committed to being furniture. The shape keeps drifting toward sculpture, the proportions keep making decisions a chair wouldn't make, and the result performs the job adequately while clearly wanting a different one.

Seven years is a long time to sit with an idea and still not have it resolve. That's not failure, it's just what happens with the things you care about most. They stay open, they refuse to settle, and you build them anyway to find out.

Due to the handmade nature of this product, each product is slightly unique. Please allow 10-12 weeks for order fulfilment.

This is a made-to-order piece. Orders placed between June 15 and July 2026 will begin fulfilment after July 15 due to a studio relocation. Standard lead time applies from that date.

Fabrication note: designed digitally in Blender, then fabricated through large-format resin 3D printing across the studio's printer fleet, hand-assembled and finished in-studio.
